Who are The Marran? The Marran are a group of like-minded individuals who believe in eradication of the Dark Side, protecting the innocent, and generally doing the right thing. We are made up of Jedi, Force users, smugglers, former Imperials, and more. The Marran are NOT part of the Jedi Order and with the recent near destruction of that Order the Marran now operate more on their own than ever. They have, however, recently began to work with the Alliance against the Eternal Empire and as such do work closely with Alliance command.
Does that mean my smuggler wouldn't be welcome? Not at all. "Doing the right thing" doesn't necessarily mean adhering to the laws of the Republic. A law can be unjust. The Marran have a place for someone like you.
Does that also include non-Force sensitive characters in general? Yes. We're open to those who cannot use the Force. We have a number of members who aren't Force users and they're heavily involved in the guild RP. We have slicers, Marines, Mandalorians, etc.
I have a Sith/Imperial character that I want to redeem. Will I be welcome in the Marran? While we're cautious with these sort of stories, we are open to having characters like this join the guild. We ask that you discuss your character's story and reason for wanting redemption with us beforehand so that we can all be clear on the goals and timeline for the character's redemption. Although RP is organic in nature, we do ask that redemption stories remain somewhat close to their originally discussed time line. With the Marran now working with the Alliance against the Eternal Empire, Imperial/Sith characters that are not interested in redemption are also allowed within the guild. However this comes with a few limitations. They would be considered outside allies and not members of the Marran Order. They would not be able to learn or be taught Marran Force abilities and would be kept out of overly sensitive areas such as the Archives and Vault. We also have to remember that the Alliance command is not stupid. They understand the sort of people the Marran are comprised of and so would not assign an overtly dark or evil character to work with them. Greyish/pragmatic sith and Imperial characters however could be assigned to work with the Marran due to a skillset or need of some sort.
I'm looking for romantic RP. Is that allowed? It is allowed, but please don't join the guild just to find a romance partner - we're not a singles' club or an ERP guild. We know the stricter Jedi guilds tend to stick to the tenets of the Jedi Code. The Marran have members who are Jedi, though we are not a Jedi guild. Many of the Jedi in the Marran do not necessarily fit the mold of your standard Jedi Knight either - due to the Marran's more aggressive tendencies to fight the Dark Side we often attract those that might be considered "unusual" or "misfits" among the Order. We also have members who are non-Jedi Force users, or not even Force users at all. You're welcome to start up a romantic RP partnership. Keep in mind, however, the IC consequences of having a relationship - the reactions of others around you may not be what you expect them to be.
What are the Marran Flames? Aren't they godmoding? The Marran Flames are essentially a variation on the RPG "Force Light" ability. They aren't infallible and they aren't an automatic "I win" button. There's nothing about them that makes them so powerful they would qualify as "godmoding". The Flames are simply a subset of abilities specific to those dedicated to certain Marran disciplines that allow them to "detect evil", protect themselves against the Dark Side, cleanse objects of Dark Side taint, or damage those who are tainted.
Do the Marran have a Stronghold or Guild Ship? We have both. We have a fully-unlocked Yavin 4 stronghold and a fully unlocked guild ship - an old vessel called the Arc Star that is of not completely known alien origins.
Are the Marran a raiding guild? A PvP guild? While the Marran do some raiding - typically Sunday and Monday nights - we are certainly not a raiding guild, as it's not our focus. We do not force our members to participate. We do have some people within the guild who PvP, too, but we're not a PvP guild and don't really have PvP events.
Do the Marran do fully free-form RP events or do they have a system? We do have a homebrewed RP system we use. We do not require one for people to participate, and if you don't have a sheet we'll work with you during our events to make sure you aren't left out.
Do I have to be 18 to join the Marran? No, but we do require you to tell us if you aren't so we can flag you accordingly in the member list and on the forums.
What exactly IS Mickey anyway? Mickey is Kantherion Onerious's contractually-bound hetero life-mate. His race is something known as a Skree. Beyond that, even WE are still trying to figure Mickey out. It's probably a lost cause. Sadly however both Mickey and Kantherion have flown off into the sunset, likely with massive explosions and firepower to follow soon after.
The Marran are a group of individuals who have united under common goals: eradication of the Dark Side, protection of the innocent, and doing what's right. No matter what walk of life a Marran is from, they believe in doing the right thing, no matter where faction lines are drawn. Led by Archon Ihlrath Onerious, a Jedi Master, the Marran are made up of a number of subsects, outlined below.
The Paladins of the Silver Flame
The legendary Marran Paladins have long been the bane of the darkside and its minions. When people think of the Marran it is often the silver flames of the Paladin's blades flashing and tearing through the shadows around them that come to mind. Trained warriors with a strict Code of Conduct and Honor, those that can walk the path of the Paladins are rare indeed. Often called zealots by those outside the Marran and even some within, their zeal in hunting and destroying the darkside in all its forms whereever it may be found is well known through out the galaxy.
Paladins are rare among the Marran as they must strictly follow their Code of Conduct and any sign of faltering will result in a Paladin being taken off duty for a time to be evaluated and helped with any difficulties they may be having. When other members of the Marran find darkness and corruption, it's the Paladins and their silver fire they call in to cleanse it.
The Paladins are led by Arbiter Nyomi Adastra. When formally addressing a Paladin, the honorific of "Sir" or "Dame" should be used.
The Order of the Silver Star
While the Paladins are the martial sect of the Marran, the Order of the Silver Star would be akin to the clerics or sorcerers, though Force sensitivity certainly isn’t a requirement. Much like the Paladins, the Order is often seen as being made up of zealots. Because of the nature of the people they encounter and the items they work with, they require a significant amount of self-control and discipline.
The Order is comprised of all those with a more intellectual focus that wish to apply it to the goal of eradication of the Dark Side. Healers, archaeologists, philosophers - all who seek knowledge for the betterment of of galaxy are welcome among the Order. Its members are responsible for the maintenance of the medbay, treatment of the injured, research and development of technology to aid the Marran in their goals, cultivation of medicinal plants, gathering of relics and artifacts, management of the Marran Archives, cataloging and destruction of harmful items when found, and care for the creatures in the Menagerie (depending on the skills of the individual Marran).
The Order of the Silver Star is led by Primatrix Alasha Onerious. When formally addressing a member of the Order, the honorific of "Keeper" should be used.
Not everyone that walks the Marran Path is a crusading knight or fire-slinging Force user. Sometimes a person just wants to do the right thing and be around others of the same mind set. This isn't a lawful "right thing" mind you, but rather doing the right thing when the right thing is the hard choice. Rangers are these people. Members of all walks of life that put others before themselves and know that they're part of something larger, the Rangers are made up of smugglers, outlaws, Jedi, Force users, Warriors, and others who see the Marran mission to promote good and defend against evil as something worth being a part of and fighting for... even if they don't necessarily share the same deep convictions about the little things in life. It's the fight against the darkness that matters most and brings all Marran together.
The Hammer of the Phoenix: The 3rd Marines
The 3rd Marines, known throughout the Republic Military as the "Phoenix's Hammer" have been assigned by the Republic to work exclusively with the Marran in their objectives. They garrison the Marran strongholds and ships and can be found almost anywhere a Marran is. While not officially Marran, the Marines take great pride in their assignment and you would be hard pressed to find a Marran that doesn't consider the Marines to be just as much their brothers and sisters in arms as their compatriots. Marines are subject to the Republic Code of Military Justice and are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner.
The COs of the 3rd Marines are Major Neehowe Aisha and Major Jerax Teral.
Clan Kryam'Lupinir are a group of Mandalorians who rejected the current Mand'alor as nothing more than a puppet for the Sith. They hold to the traditions of the Mandalorians including family, honor, and respect for themselves and others above all things and refuse to follow an unworthy leader. Recently their former Alor, Kantherion Onerious, repaired the rift between the clan and the Mand'alor when the clans were called to fight against the Zakuul at all costs. Seeing that the Mand'alor had chosen a worthy fight and was not clearly under the control of the Sith, Kantherion threw his support in with rest of the clans.
